Another family wedding

2012 seems like the year for weddings in our family. Sunday the 1st of April was a special day for my sister, Carolyn, when she and her partner, Martin, were married in the little chapel at Hawley House, Hawley (near Port Sorell). The weather was perfect, blue skies and warm weather - a typical autumn day in Tassie!

Rachael's contribution to the wedding - her beautiful handmade white, paper flowers! They looked amazing as they decorated both the inside and outside of the chapel.

The chapel was also decorated with candles and handmade birds.

The bride-to-be was very relaxed and enjoying the lead up to the wedding.

DECORATIONS...

A team effort went into decorating the stone barn for the afternoon reception. White bunting, paper flowers, paper lanterns, hay bales, creative signs and pearl white helium balloons were a few of the decorations used on the day. Behind the scenes there were a terrific team of people who organised and provided the bbq lunch and lovely salads enjoyed by everyone. Delicious chocolate truffles, fudges and lindt chocolates were enjoyed by everyone as an alternative to dessert.

Then it was time to cut the cake...

Many thanks go to Pat for making the delicious chocolate mud cake!

Rachael had a second opportunity to wear her gorgeous wedding dress and was very relaxed and happy as she spent time chatting with everyone throughout the afternoon.

The stone barn was lit by dozens of tea light candles in glass jars creating a lovely atmosphere.

Guests were invited to pen 'words of wisdom' and sage advice to Rachael & Dale as they begin their married life together.

Thanks so much to everyone who came to celebrate with Rachael & Dale to make their reception such a memorable and relaxed occasion!
